Wei Zhang
Research Assistant Professor
PROFILE
Dr. Zhang received his doctoral degree from Nanjing Medical University and subsequently completed postdoctoral training at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). She currently serves as a Research Assistant Professor in Professor Gu Dongfeng's research group at SUSTech's School of Public Health and Emergency Management, where her primary research focuses on fundamental studies of cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Zhang was designated as a Shenzhen High-Level Talent in August 2021.
RESEARCH DIRECTIONS
1.Focus on cardiovascular genomics, using whole-genome sequencing data and gene editing to elucidate disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets.
2.Postdoctoral work focused on cancer metastasis research by establishing a mouse model of lung-specific prostate cancer metastasis. Screening organism-specific target genes for mechanistic investigation.
